These two. women I encountered in the main shrine of Kyoto. Just loved the connection they had... and their dress sense.

The art of shooting competitions in pétanque is a curious. one. The aim is to throw a boule from a distance of 6, 7, 8 and 9 metres in order to land in the circle on the full hitting or not hitting any objects as the case may be... with the thrown boule staying in the circle.
Ah, the pleasures that lie in wait in the King Valley can surprise and delight one so unexpectantly. ChrisMont Wines and Pizzini Winery are two gems that smashed out taste buds (and our wallets).
Forrest Gump quotes his mother... "Stupid is as stupid does..." I rest my case. Snapped from the train, Rona filled ship...
The day spa magician gave me a serious work over and did her best to release all the gardening and sporting aches and pains. Top effort. I didn't look this good when lying on the massage table but when she finished pumelling me, I felt that beautiful, and that's all that matters... Legendary Thai massage...for sure. I am a legend. That's the massaging the truth of it.
Hanging out in the warm weather of Sydney and celebrating someone's birthday led me to Alpha on Castlereagh St. OMG... Best Saganaki that I have had to date... ad I have had few in my time. The open kitchen allowed us top marvel at the skills of the various levels of chefs on deck and the speed with which dishes were produced. Beautifully presented and wonderful flavour combinations that worked so well with the Samos Ouzo. each dish was worthy of praise.
Lovely folk to be found at the Wollongong Petanque Club. Highly skilled and very friendly, the chance to have a throw whilst away was much appreciated. Arienne and Isabel have played internationally with considerable success, so it was great to chance the arm against such experience and talent. Remy (seated) was delighted when he and I bested the two ladies as he is married to Isabel. (in front of Arienne) Apparently we were lucky to play them in the first game before the gals had warmed up. Ross (standing) was so helpful and supportive as befits a Petanque "El Presidente". The pétanque pistes are next to the German Club where we took lunch and a stein of beer.
The gardens of Durrel in Mt Macedon are a statement about the pawer of age. The large trees there loom above the others and provide a sense of majesty and age. Thanks to the Open Gardens scheme we were able to stroll. about Durrell (and Lewisham further down the road a very different garden) and enjoy the Edna Walling designed garden. Shoulda brought picnic I said.
Down in Changgu former neighbours are living the ex-pat life in Bali.... living the dream, which is occasionally interrupted by a nightmare as living in Indo always holds some surprises.
