One of the many contradictions of China is high tech versus lo-tech. One can buy anything on your phone, pay people via an app to stand in line for you in a restaurant queue, access real 5G speed and then there is the old school practices that are maintained and perhaps are more environmentally sound. Street sweepers in all the parts of China I have visited make their own broom switches... there and then on the street. This guy was bending the wire tie in preparation to wind the bamboo broomstick under his arm. There is no doubting the effectiveness of this approach. :-)
