Shuhe near Lijiang in theyunnan...
Xmas 2016 was spent in the Yunnan in the southwest of China. What an area it is... We brought new meaning to "lazy" whilst we stayed at the Lazy Tiger Inn in Shuhe some 10 mins away from Lijiang by car/taxi. Shuhe is a beautiful village affair compete with water running through main square and beyond. But the real treasure of the town is Liping and Patrick, the hosts at the Lazy Tiger Inn. A nicer pair of peeps hosting an accomm. venue would be hard to find. Nothing too much trouble and just beautiful souls to boot. Styled on a Naxi (local indigenous) courtyard, the inn is cosy and relaxing in its ambience . All the crucial facilities are there.. hot water, air con... heating... comfy beds... well appointed stylish rooms complete with tea drinking raised platform with tea, teapot and cups.... oh I could go on waxing lyrical...
Needless to say we would highly recommend you spending some time there. We would sit in the courtyard after a day "out and about" and share a pot of tea with Liping and/or Patrick chatting about the experiences of the day or the plans for the next or... world peace. Organise a car and driver...no problem... hire bikes... go here... restaurant recommendation... choose form these 15... we even went to dinner together at the local (40 metres away) Yak restaurant.
Jade Snow Dragon Mountain... on advice from our hosts we waited until the Thursday as snow was predicted Wednesday night... as a consequence we had a pristine snow experience on the summit and at the foot of the mountain....

This woman is strolling down her street in her village dressed in a version of the local dress. The village of Baisha is a lovely 20 minute bike ride from Shuhe.
