We headed north to the city of Harbin, close to the Russian border. The town reflects this influence in dress, food options and wares. It is most famous for its ice and snow festivals. Two events held simultaneously and in distinctly different parts of the town. One ice block constructions with coloured lights threaded through and ice carvings as features, the other compacted snow carvings ~ both on a huge scale.
The ice slides (foreground) were AMAZING. Fast and long, Ellen and I have new respect for skeleton and bob sledders
