Beijing is filled with contradictions and surprises. None moreso that the art that is dotted around the city. There is District 798 which began as an artist haven, and is now filled with galleries and cafes and the "more than famous" Parkview Green Mall which is filled with quirky art pieces. Like this below. This piece is entitled: Its Not What You Think." I beg to differ. The ex-pat community are well serviced in the Jing, and there are some hotels and associated cafes that cater for both East and West most successfully. One place is called The Opposite House (I don't know why.) Its a large green glassed hotel and exhibition venue which is in downtown Sanlitun and clearly opposite something...But there you can find East intersecting West particularly the space where the love of the inflatable is shared... love giant inflatables? No problem.
